Forgive My Fins

by Tera Lynn Childs

Lily Sanderson is half human, half mermaid. When she gets the chance, and permision, from her father to live as a human for a few years in her aunts house she jumps at the chance to find out what it's like to be a human girl, attending a human high school, falling in love with a human guy. This is her chance to find out more about her human mother and what her life was like on land.

Life gets a little complicated when you're a teenager. Imagine how complicated things would be if you don't acually belong to the group of people you hang around with. You have a secret you can't share with anyone, not even your best friend of 3 years. The guy you like doesn't even know who you are, while the guy that likes you is constantly making your life miserable.

Brain Jack

by Brian Falkner
Computer hacking. It's a problem that's real. Some people think hackers are cool. Some people think hackers are criminals. What if the government were to hire all the best hackers in the world to monitor the security of the most important places in the United States? It would be a very important job, but not without it's down side. You would make tons of money, but not be able to go anywhere without being guarded. The government would have to know your every move.... your every thought.

What if the government you are working to protect is able to hack into your brain and controll your memories, your thoughts? Is hacking still cool when your government hacks into your brain?

Fat Cat

by Robin Brande

Your best friend is supposed to be someone you can trust. Someone you tell all your secrets to and who tells you all of theirs. Your best friend is not supposed to say things behind your back. Ugly things. Unforgivable things. But that's just what happened between Cat and her ex-best friend, Matt.

Now, Cat is launching a science experiment that can possibly change everything. She's better and smarter than Matt could ever hope to be. With Amanda's help (Cat's new BFF) her science project will surprise everyone: her family, her friends, her teacher, and the science fair judges... IF she can survive the experiments.

Dragonfly

by Julia Golding

Tashi and Ramil are getting married, not because they love each other, but because it will build their country's armies with enough strength and power to stop an invasion from their common enemy. Actually, Tashi and Ramil pretty much hate each other.

Before they can even get to know each other, they are kidnapped by circus bandits only to be taken deep into the forest with no hope of escape. They don't trust each other and they can't trust any one else. How will they escape? How will they save their countries from attack? Will both be able to survive the beatings and tricks from enemies coming at them from all sides?

Ship Breaker

by Paolo Bacigalupi

Imagine a world where oil and gas are scarce. Imagine having to salvage copper wiring, aluminum, and other metals to make a buck. Now, imagine having to use children, small enough to fit in tight spaces, to crawl through old, rusty, abandoned ships to collect and salvage these precious metals. What happens when you get older and your body isn't as small as it used to be? What do you have to do make a better life for yourself. Maybe....... you don't want to know.

Nailer is a teenage boy who's job it is to scavenge through wrecked ship, but he's getting older, and bigger. What he needs is a lucky break. His dad is not someone you would look forward to seeing. His mother died doing what Nailer is doing now inside the ships. No brothers. No sisters. Luck isn't on his side.
